Cousin Camp Day Two: REAL Kolaches

Today consisted of a lot of resting up for our drive to the beach tomorrow! We are beyond excited and ready to be there. It will take about 3 1/2 hours (hopefully) to get to the beach house then it's fun in the sun for FOUR days!

This morning started out with cream cheese kolaches and pigs-in-a-blanket from Weikel's. We LOVE us some kolaches! Are there any of you out there who think a kolache is bread with sausage in it? Well, you are WRONG! :) Well, kind of. Pigs-in-a-blanket are also referred to as sausage kolaches. It just makes me sad that I have to drive 9 hours to central Texas to find me some non-sausage kolaches. Can I get an A-MEN?! Anyway...moving on...

Sarah Jane and Harper ate almost a whole kolache each!
I slept for over 4 hours this afternoon because of a horrible headache. I think I was just exhausted. One of the many things I am thankful for when I am with my whole family is, I am able to sleep while other people take care of my kid. :)

I ran some last minute errands (Wal-Mart for diapers, HEB for paci's) this evening before heading to Galveston in the morning. Harper keeps biting holes in her paci's because she's teething, but I didn't want to take it away before this trip. After we get back home into our normal routine, we'll work on it. Yes, she's almost two, and yes, it's our choice as her parents as to when we will break that habit. So judge me if you wish!

My niece Riley (3 years old) sat with me for a while tonight looking through pictures on my phone. She's so hilarious. My sister is going to have fun with this one when she's a teenager. :)

Here's my favorite Riley story...
We went to San Antonio at the end of December/beginning of January to visit my dad's grave, visit my grandma, and go to Sea World. We were on our second stop at Grandma's and getting back into the cars to head to Sea World. We smelled something in the car and realized my nephew and my mom had stepped in cat poop somewhere between Grandma's house and the car. We were all trying to clean the shoes and the floors of the cars when Riley shouted, "Why did Grammy (my mom) poop in the yard?!" Oh man...that girl!

We are all winding down and getting ready for bed. The babies have been asleep for a while, and the older kids are watching a movie. We are hoping to head out tomorrow no later than 9:00. We'll see if that actually happens! Next time you hear from me, I'll be reporting for the BEACH!

JDaniel used to bite holes in his. That is how we weaned him of them. He hated it when the wouldn't work right.

Sounds like you're making lots of memories!

Definitely don't take away the pacifier until after you settle from this trip. Who am I to judge? My 2 1/2 year old still takes a bottle before nap and bed. I hate it, but she is old enough to debate with me why she still needs a bottle. Hmm...
