Baby Sophie!

One of my good friends, Jamie, from college had this sweet baby girl on April 11th. I finally made it to Friona today to snuggle with this precious thing! She is SO sweet, and I'm not just saying that because her mom may read my blog. She really is one SWEET baby! I didn't get to hold her nearly as much as I wanted to. My back is still hurting REALLY bad. I couldn't hold her (even sitting down) comfortably. Bummer. I was planning on staying the night and spending all day with them tomorrow, but I left my pain medication at home and didn't know if I would live through the night sleeping on the couch. I probably wouldn't be able to walk in the morning. Totally lame. Well, I'll probably just have to go back to Friona really soon then. :)

Sweet Sophie girl
So teeny!
Big sister, Shelby, and Harper had fun taking turns in Sophie's swing.
I turned on Happy Feet for the ride home....
...and she was out in about 2.5 seconds.
And this is the car where the 3-4 teenage girls smoke pot about every other day outside our apartment. You're welcome.
You'll thank me one day, kids....maybe not, but your moms will.

Stripping and Stuff

I have been having horrible back pain today (as in...takes me 5 minutes JUST to get out of bed) so Michael got up with Harper. At one point, she was in her crib and when I walked in, this is what I saw....

She had taken her diaper off and peed in her bed. And the bumper. And her blankets. And her Pillow Pet. Apparently, it was hilarious.
See the diaper?
Seriously, she strips at some point in the day. This is after her nap.
She looks really innocent here.
AND she's stripped again.
When she gets tired, she turns into a complete drama queen.
This was her reaction tonight when I told her "no" when she tried to steal my sour patch kids.

Of subject complete, but I am sitting here watching the Real Housewives of NJ, and Danielle is a freakin' crazy person!

Why must you drink your poop?

I would like to thank my sister, April, for the Gerber chicken sticks suggestion. As horrible as they look and smell, she sure did LOVE them! She almost finished off the entire jar for dinner tonight. I, on the other hand, threw up a little in my mouth before I even opened the jar.

So I made fajitas for dinner, and in order to do this without Harper whining the whole time, I gave her some vanilla pudding to eat by herself. Super idea. She had it everywhere.

(wow....why are her eyes dilated? anyway...)
I filled up her little pink bathtub and stuck her in there to play while I finished dinner. I know it isn't safe to leave her in there by herself, but I can see her from the kitchen. About 10 minutes passed, and Michael walked by and said, "She's drinking the bath water." I wasn't surprised since she does this a lot. She thinks it's hilarious to fill the cup up with water and pour it on her chest, but most of the time, it goes directly into her mouth instead. I went in there no more than a minute later to find DIARRHEA bath water. She wasn't worried about it at all. I had her stand in the bathtub while I washed her pink tub out and scrubbed it with Dial. Then I washed her head to toe with Dial. I just can't stop thinking of the fact that she more than likely drank diarrhea. That. Is. Awesome.

Oh the super fun things that find their way into my life!

Downtown and Maxey Park

I have been wanting to try out my camera on this really cute subject. This time I remembered to put the battery back in the camera before I got all the way downtown. The wind was a bit ridiculous when we first got there. And when I say ridiculous, I mean like 70 mph wind gusts. Seriously lame.

These were taken at the Buddy Holly Center downtown. Before I could get some really good shots of Harper with the lollipop, she dropped it, and it shattered into a million pieces. Bummer.

Her reaction to me telling her to smile. What a toot.

The wind was starting to die down a little bit, so I took her to Maxey Park to wear her out a little bit.

She was "quacking" at the ducks.

These next two are my favorites from today!

Twins for a Day

Yesterday when I got home from work, I started feeling a little nauseous and started to get a headache. Maybe it was because I caught Harper licking an electrical outlet at work. Maybe not. I laid down for a little while after I put Harper down. Not 30 minutes later, she was awake. Why must she pick the days I don't feel good to take 30 minute naps? I brought her into my room hoping she would go back to sleep. Rigghhhtttt. She messed and messed until her daddy got home from work.
These are her bangs when they aren't pulled out of her eyes!
Using the more difficult approach to put her shirt on.

Yesterday evening I went to a Thirty One party at Lib's house. My back was hurting pretty back so I took some pain medication when I got there. Not the smartest idea I've ever had. I started feeling REALLY sick so I left to go home. I threw up on the way home...on the side of the road. Lovely. I continued that through most of the night and early morning. Maybe I have learned my lesson not to take that medication on an empty stomach! I was supposed to work this morning, but went ahead and got my shift covered last night just in case I was still sick in the morning. Luckily, I was finally able to get some sleep and felt fine this morning.

One of my friends had her wisdom teeth pulled, her 6 year old at home with a fever and needing to take him to the doctor, AND has a 21 month old and a 3 month old! I offered to pick Miss Gracie (she and Harper are 4 months apart) up so she wouldn't have to wrangle all 3 of them at the walk in clinic. We headed to the mall to play a little bit then eat some Chick-fil-a.

First of all, let me start by giving MAJOR props to any of you out there with multiples. On. My. Word. Gracie is SO sweet. Harper, on the other hand, continued to run away from the play area to look at the puppies. At least she wasn't stripping or licking any outlets. Geez. I was only there 15 minutes and already sweating.

Almost everyone who stopped to talk to the girls thought they were twins! I didn't correct them. :)

Gracie on the hippo.
Isn't she the sweetest?
When all you have is a single stroller, you improvise. Gracie didn't mind until Harper started pestering her from behind and messing with her earrings. I ended up having to switch them around.
Eating some Chick-fil-a.
Gracie!
Harper
The E@ster Bunny walked up to them and neither were impressed. AT. ALL. He was still nice enough to give them a book, though!
(Don't they look SO much alike here?!)
I dropped Gracie off after they finished up at the doctor's office, and I am laying in bed while Harper naps. I have a horrible headache again which is starting to make me feel sick to my stomach. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling it's the 100mph blowing DIRT outside!

What do you feed your toddlers?

I have been having a REALLY hard time finding foods Harper will actually eat. Seriously! This. Kid. I have to give her carnation instant breakfast twice a day with her whole milk, just so I know she is getting SOME kind of nutrients. Have any of you been through this too? I ask her pediatrician every time I take her in, but he doesn't really seem concerned. Maybe it's just a phase, but it's SO frustrating!

These pictures don't have anything to do with my rant above but cute, nonetheless.

The other day at work, a kid left his water on the table, and Harper took it upon herself to drench herself. I took off her dress and threw it in the dryer. Harper was trying REALLY hard to get completely naked. At one point, she had her bloomers around her ankles and diaper almost off.
She didn't care about the multiple other kids in the room. If this persists after 10 years, I'll start to worry.
Hopefully one day she won't think stripping is fun.
She fed herself some Oreos.
She looks WAY too big here! This was this morning watching the Sesame Street episode with "Socks in the City." I really hope they weren't doing a play on words.
Harper got her new car seat in the mail that we won from Recaro! This. Car seat. Is. AWESOME.
After a failed attempt to get her to eat some pasta stars with turkey, she finally ate some spaghetti and meatballs. I was trying to avoid a bath tonight. No such luck.
On a totally unrelated note, I am so (selfishly) thankful my child loves to sleep. She naps well and sleeps well. Tonight she went to bed around 6:30 and will probably sleep until at least 7 which is when I get up for work. On the mornings I don't have to work, I will keep her up a little later the night before. It's fabulous.

Let's end the night with some vomit.

I started out today by oversleeping, not waking Michael up in time for him to get ready for church, then Harper and I rolling into church late. I picked her up from the church nursery after the sermon and took her back into the auditorium with me like I always do. Right when I sat down, I noticed a really bad bite on her right arm. She didn't seem too worried about it! I stopped by the nursery on the way out to the car just to ask if they had noticed it. They hadn't because she didn't cry the whole time she was in there. I really wonder if she bit herself! I know that sounds silly, but she is teething really bad right now and has been gnawing on her fingers and hands. Why not move on up to her arm? :)

It looks A LOT worse in the picture than in person.
This girl.....we are (hopefully) past the crayon eating phase but have unfortunately moved into the color on everything phase. At least it was washable this time around!
We headed over to Michael's dad's house this afternoon to hang out and eat dinner.
This girl thinks she owns the place.
Playing Aunt Alexa's piano
Harper LOVES her Aunt Alexa, and Alexa is SO good with her!

Here's a video of them playing on the trampoline together.
We didn't leave their house until after 8:30, so I changed her into her pj's before we left their house.
One tired little girl! (and lookin' a little rough)
I put her to bed when we got home then went back in to check on her and put some of her laundry away. She sat up and puked. A lot. Luckily, it all went on her blankie, and I didn't have to change her clothes or her sheet! We did, unfortunately, have to lay that poor blankie to rest. She has 5 more just like it. She'll be okay. I cannot say the same for the blankie.
