Wilson Homecoming 2008 "Hunt the Leopards"
This past week was full of festivities for Homecoming. Tuesday, school was released at 1:00 to prepare for the Homecoming Parade and Bon Fire. I organized and decorated the Junior High float. To go along with the theme, we decorated the truck with camo burlap. I was dressed like I came straight out of a safari, and all of my junior high kids were different kinds of animals. It was pretty cute. Too bad I don't have any pictures of it.

Plans for a 2nd Honeymoon
If you have followed my blog for a while (actually my old blog), you know that our honeymoon was just short of a disaster. Ok, that may be exaggerating just a little big. The main points to that story were: about to leave Lubbock to head to Galveston for our honeymoon and car won't start. Get it towed to the shop. Rent a car. Spend a lot of our extra money on that. Get to Galveston. Find out the crew is a bunch of morons. Leave the port 12 hours late. Storms every day at sea. More drama happens but I will spare you. Get back to Lubbock. Pick up my car from the shop. Go to visit Charlie. Head back to the apartment and get in a wreck. And the story goes on.....
Anywho...since that was our oh-so-exciting honeymoon, we have decided to plan somewhat of a second honeymoon during Thanksgiving break. We are heading to Ruidoso, NM and staying in an awesome cabin! Two of our friends are going to meet us up there the weekend after Thanksgiving to hang out. I absolutely cannot wait!
Here are some pictures of the awesome cabin! It is loaded with everything we need....flat screen HD TVs, Direct TV, DVD player and a hot tub!

The joys of Mustang 6-Man Football
Here is the progress (or not so much) of our football season thus far.....
Last Friday night, we start the game with 8 players. We have our kick off guys on the field. #7 kicks the ball....#2 trips over his own feet....he is down on the field. Crap. He is carried off the field. Mom and dad come down. Dad says a few choice words to Coach S. Dad is thrown out of the game and all athletic functions for the rest of the year. #2 is taken off on a stretcher....heads to the hospital. We are down to 7 players. In the 4th quarter, #4 twists his ankle....down to 6 players. We finish the game alive.
Fast forward to tonight's game....
We start the game off with 7 players. In the beginning of the 2nd quarter, #14 is the ball carrier and gets laid out by the defense (and I mean OUT)....down on the field. He is taken off on a stretcher and heads to the hospital. We are down to 6 players (in the 2ND quarter!). Now the score is something like 34-0 (umm...not in our favor). A couple of plays later, #8 goes down for a second but gets back up. He still has to sit out a play since he delayed the game. We have 5 players on the field. A-holes throw a "hail mary" for another touchdown. Are you kidding me? We are down to 5 players on the field. You are up by 34....and you run a crap play like that?? Coach S kicks the ball halfway across the field. 15 yard penalty against the Mustangs for unsportsmanlike conduct. Awesome. Way to go coach. Other team intercepts....touchdown. And that's the ball game. We got 45ed in the 1st half. Sad, sad day.
This is my life now. Jealous?

First Day of School
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Actually, it wasn't bad at all. I got to school at 7:30 and started with JH athletics 1st period. This is grades 6-8. And there are only 16 girls. What the heck.
2nd period is usually 1st-2nd grade PE, but we had an assembly.
3rd period was 3rd-5th grade PE. You guessed it....full of drama. One little 3rd grader ran up to me crying. She said, "She already started picking on me, and if this continues, I am going to transfer schools. I don't want to transfer schools." GOOD GOO.
4th period--8th Grade Social Studies
6th Period--6th Grade Social Studies. I gave them a survey for them to fill out about themselves. One question was: "Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names?" One boy proceeded to tell me about one dog that died of cancer and another that was stolen. He wanted to know if he could list them. Sure...why not.
7th period--7th Grade Social Studies
8th period--HS athletics
That's about it folks. I stayed up at school until 6 to get some more work done for the rest of the week. I have a feeling this will be happening a lot.

Don't be jealous...
This is what Michael and I will be living in for $50/month. I'm not complaining, but we have a lot of work to do. The whole right section of the house has shifted so we (as in Michael) have been patching cracks and painting. We have one room down...the whole rest of the house to go. We move in completely on Saturday!!!
We have a guest bedroom so come visit us! I know you want to.
(The building to the right in the background is the gym @ the school. See, I told you we were RIGHT next to the school!)

Michael is usually the one that takes Max to the vet for his puppy shots. Well, I thought I would be nice and take him this morning since I really didn't have to be up at school until 12. I get to the vet and Max is freaking out as soon as he sees the clinic door. I have to pick him up and carry him inside...while he is clawing the crap out of me. He weighs 30 pounds, people. So the vet gives him the shots...we pay...we leave. Great. We are done and can go home now! I turn onto our street and he pukes RIGHT between the front passenger seat and the middle console. Are you kidding me? Awesome. Why in MY car?
So I get home and get him inside. I start to clean up his mess and start gagging uncontrollably. I start throwing up in the car port. omg. Two separate neighbors are outside and can hear me throwing up my internal organs. They probably think I was paying a price for a night out on the town. Not so much. I really didn't want to take the time to explain that I just have a horribly overactive gag reflex. Thank goodness we are moving soon.
See, my life is never boring.
