Lake Alan Henry

Michael's dad and step-mom just bought a boat, so we are taking advantage of that to get some sun! We headed to the lake Saturday with Michael's dad and little sister. It was a beautiful day!

 Tubing with me...very....slowly....
 Swimming with Papa

We had SO much fun until.....She woke up Sunday morning covered in vomit. She had thrown up some time during the night then continued through the day. Michael left around 10am that morning for San Antonio for 4 weeks, so it was a rough day. Monday she seemed to be getting better then started vomiting again that evening. Today was pretty much the same story....wake up, throw up, diarrhea, repeat.

She was SO sad! She would roll around moaning that her tummy hurt.

I took her to the doctor today, and they are pretty sure she picked something up from the lake water with Salmonella being at the top of the list. Gross. We won't know for sure until the cultures come back from the lab. In the meantime, I am at the end of my rope with the puking. Even as I was typing this post, I had to take a break to clean up puke right in the entrance to the office. Aren't you jealous?! It's been rough without Daddy here!

4th of July

There's a pretty sweet tradition here in Lubbock called 4th on Broadway. I think we have only missed it one year, and that's because it was POURING. Harper loved the parade and the opportunity to wave her flag around.
 Daddies and their baby girls!

After the parade, we met my sister and her family at Fuzzy's FAR away from the parade. The one on Broadway was impossible to eat at. We went home, and I took a much needed 4 hour nap. :) We went over to the in-law's and cooked dinner. It was a great day!

CritterFest

The Science Spectrum has an event called CritterFest every year where they have a ton of animals including an elephant, camel, zebras, ponies, goats, pigs, and SO many more. I really didn't think Harper would want to ride the pony, but she LOVED it!

Father's Day and First Haircut

On Father's Day, we went to Cracker Barrel for brunch then decided to get Harper's hair cut. I trimmed it once before, but that doesn't really count. ;) There's a new place in town called Sharkey's. It's pretty expensive, but since it was her first hair cut, we did it anyway. The place is awesome. She was super excited about the Barbie jeep she got to sit in!

They gave her this cute certificate, before/after pictures, and a lock of her hair.

She was pretty nervous about getting her hair washed.

The Barbie jeep made it all worth it, though!

She even got her nails painted!
Oh my lanta, this kid is cute!!

Cracker Barrel had this costume 80% off so of course she needed it.
Disclaimer:: Once we left Sharkey's and her hair dried, it was REALLY uneven. I took her back in, and they did a great job fixing the problem. I don't know how often we will take her here (because of the price and me having to go back for a second time), but she loved it!

Our Father's Day was wonderful, and I am again reminded of how wonderful Harper's daddy is!

New Job and New Bed!

Michael started his new job on June 4th and loves it so far! He was a stay-at-home dad for a while until he found another job. Yes, it was hard, but I know it happened for a reason, and we survived. We are so fortunate it was only 3 months! He left for San Antonio June 3rd and was there for 2 weeks for training. His first week was pole climbing class. :) He came back home for a week, back to San Antonio for a week, home for a week, and now he is back in San Antonio for his last 4 weeks of training.
He passed the pole climbing portion!
The first weekend he was gone, I scored a FREE twin bed off craigslist and decided to transition Harper out of her crib. I had a moment of panic that I was completely mad for doing this alone, but she did really well and has only fallen out once. ;) My friend Lesley told me about putting a safety thing on the inside of her bedroom door, and it worked like a charm! Once she realized she couldn't get out, she just crawled back into bed and went to sleep.
Watching Cars while I put her room together

I think she likes it!

Such a big girl! Now if we could just get this girl potty trained!

Harper's Last Day of PDO

Wow, I am WAY behind! Harper had her last day of PDO on May 17th. I am so thankful we made the decision to enroll her. It has been such a blessing, and she has learned SO much! The teachers made each of the kids an incredible scrapbook from the entire school year. I HAD to show you some of the pages. It is precious!
